You Light Up My Life

If you are in Tokyo this weekend, be sure to check out the ilil guerilla pop up shop and exhibition.  I have got a feeling that this is gonna be the best one yet!  With secrets up her sleeve, Roxi aka Rachel Harris is going to blow some minds with her mixing of Dekotora (Decoration trucks), Deko Chari (Decoration bikes) and turtles.  "Deko" means decoration, "Kami-sama" means God, and "kame" means turtle....put 'em all together and what have we got??? Deko Kame Sama aka Decorated Turtle god!

If you are wondering what the heck you can expect, think over the top ultraviolet lights, extravagant colors and paint jobs, and shimmering silver and gold.   Anything and Everything that wouldn't be sensible.  We hate sensible, so we love this idea!

In past collaborations with WUT Berlin and Trump, ilil guerillas have looked a little something like this....

So go on, check it out!

Bryan Boy Takes Us Places

Everyone who cares about fashion would love to travel the world and be one of the "Who's Who" on the international fashion scene.   I cannot say I know anyone who would pass up front row seats to big name shows like Marc Jacobs at New York Fashion Week, or a complementary shop in the D&G showroom in Milan.  It all sounds so lavish.

And who is lapping up the sweet sweet taste of fashion fame and recognition?  Bryan Boy.  A fashion icon, internationally renown blogger, a friend of ours, and a real gem!  And all those things that we would kill for, he did last month.  With a touch of envy and a dash of jealousy, we at Make Believe couldn't be happier than to see Bryan Boy take to the biggest and best fashion weeks around the world wearing Make Believe...

One seat away from the legendary Anna Wintour and surrounded by the fashion front row elite

Schmoozing with the oh-so-gorgeous Natasha Poly

Earlier this year on a photoshoot in Tokyo (and wearing more Make Believe) with one of Japan's best hair stylists Yuya Nara from SHIMA, and of course the lovely Joe from Tokyo Dandy.  Photos by Dan at Tokyo Dandy

We love you Bryan Boy and we love that you are galavanting around the world with Make Believe around your neck!

Peaches and Paris, Oh My!

We got word that Peaches was in town and decided to fulfill her Make Believe wishes by presenting her with a glossy blue rose

Looking fabulous in her Birthday Suit by the Kingpins and our gift of gratitude, Peaches went ahead and invited us to her show in Sydney last Friday night.  We would not usually grace the lines of Home night club, but seeing as we were dressed to the nines (as per usual), the que was not in our cards.  Being escorted in and straight backstage, we met up with the little wonder.  Peaches took to the stage like a true Berlin party animal and the crowd roared as she gave them an excuse to move their feet and shake what their mamas gave 'em.

And of course, if you know anything about me, you know that I would never say no to jumping on stage to bust a move.  And yes, I lunged onstage to dance with the sweaty spandex dancers and I lunged at the bottle of Moet too.  Forgive me, I am human.

Afterwards, Ebony and I jetted back to the Paris is Burning house party which got us in the mood for more dancing and vogueing.  Though our outfits were made to salute the legendary NYC glamour Balls back in the day, they did make us look like we just stepped out of a Prince video.

At the end of the night, we were left feeling nothing less that SA-TIS-FIED!!!

We love you Peaches and we love you suede two pieces!!!

Gay Bash? Yes Please, With Sugar on Top!

You know those nights when you hit the town...hard!? You just seem to be having so much fun that you forget that other people exist.  Well the last Gay Bash here in Sydney was a little like that.   We got all dulled up like baby animals for the Spring Fling party in true dress up spirit, gathered forces at Cameron and Ai's leaving party and hit the party at Kings Cross.

Pictures only show evidence of what we know to be true...we were all having a freaking riot!  Not sure if anyone else was dressed up and not sure if we offended anyone?!?  But forgive us for having one of those selfish nights where all you wanna do is show off your moves and laugh your butt off!

As always, thank you Gay Bash for giving us an excuse to lose our minds, our dignity and whatever else it was that we lost and cannot seem to remember!!! Until next time....
